Rinze ‘Ray’ Hofstee and Joep ‘Jim’ Smeele formed an instant connection when they met. Both studying at the conservatory for music in The Netherlands, they were immediately bound by a shared love of music composition and electronic dance music. The guys from Sick Individuals get their influence from Daft Punk, Bingo Players, and Swedish House Mafia. They have the amazing ability to blend all of these infectious big beats into progressive house melodies. This gives Sick Individuals serious attention all around the world. Rightfully so!
In the Netherlands, there genuinely seems to be something in the water when it comes to electronic dance music success. The duo had released on some of the world’s most influential imprints. Names like Revealed Recordings, Spinnin’ Records, Warner, Interscope, Def Jam, and Capital are no strangers to them. Also, official remixes for Rihanna & David Guetta, Madonna, Moby, Rita Ora, Avicii, and Icona Pop have peppered the global radio airwaves. This ensured their sound reaches millions of ears in all four corners of the planet.

Sick Individuals recognised the power that the internet gave them to give fans constant access to their music. Therefore, they launched their own radio show; ‘THIS IS SICK’. This show reaches tens of thousands of listeners every month and eventually morphed into the major live ‘THIS IS SICK’ concept, which they created exclusively for their stage performances. By manipulating visuals and audio in real-time directly from the DJ booth, the duo creates a whole new immersive experience for fans who flock to see them play.
